I was ten and it was the weekend. I booted up the computer and was serenaded by the infamous notes of Windows 98’s start-up music. I double-clicked a curious desktop shortcut that turned out to be Photoshop 5. The rest, as they say, is history.While it feels like I’ve been designing forever, my career started when I was 20, I was in the local pub and one of my neighbours mentioned they needed new business cards. I started off as a graphic designer but realised I was missing out on a lot of potential work when answering no to the question “can you do websites?”. I’m self-taught in every respect and it is my passion to learn something new, even when complex, that I very grateful for. Fast forward to the age of 27, I teamed up with a friend to make use of the skills I had developed to help build a construction-related business.The company was a success, had over 15 employees and funded a second covid-busting construction business. I exited both businesses mid-2021 to pursue what I have always found more fulfilling and what I believe to be the best use of my skill set, which brings us to the present.It's become evident that my experience of running such companies gives me a commercially astute edge over my competition. I’ve been that person who has to qualify marketing spend and I’ve made enough mistakes to know what does and doesn’t work.
