At the Faunus Group our aim is to provide environmentally-positive solutions to the funeral sector that also help to create positive experiences for the bereaved. We believe that it is possible to create a long-lasting positive experience during bereavement by spending time connecting with nature, and specifically by promoting memorial planting that can provide a flourishing reminder of the departed loved one.Within the Faunus Group we have three companies - The Woodland Burial Company, Natural Transition (trading as Living Memorial), and Precision Organic - each focused on separate aspects of the funeral sector.Within these companies in general my role is to provide strategic direction, high-level decision making, and developing internal systems to ensure the businesses stay profitable and growing. My day-to-day role is with Precision Organic as Chief Operating Officer, driving forward development of our novel body dispersal method. The system relies on a sophisticated suite of sensors and an advanced control system to achieve an incredible acceleration of the natural process of decomposition from many years to just a few months.This role uses a combination of my degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, many years' experience of running my own technology business, and a motivation to produce a system that can make a significant change to the impact that current body dispersal methods have on the environment. In a few years my team has gone from an outline concept to a bank of test chambers and a fully-operational human chamber ready for Proof of Concept trials before being released as a commercially available system.
