The Foundation is an independent charity supporting young people from low-income backgrounds get paid work experience, employability skills training and career guidance. A thoroughly rewarding role as I get to see the progress of these young adults, gaining vital skills and growing in confidence.

Helping young people to succeed by providing guidance and support in establishing their business. A priveleged job and incredibly rewarding role where I feel that I learn so much from the young people I mentor.

An amazing organisation which has been running for the past 20 yrs, exisiting on grants and funding to help provide fantastic services to the local community. I'm looking to help in a philantropic way, in the process of attaining sustainable finance, improve marketing and breath new life in to the enterprise; whilst absorbing a wealth of knowledge from.

We help any company from small startups to large corporations establish and develop quality systems to help them increase growth and profitability.

I have joined 13 other fellows to participate in this the inaugural saltire foundation year long training programme in Entrepreneurship and Venture Finance where an integral part of the programme involves academic learning at Babson College in Boston USA and experiential learning elsewhere in the US and within a smaller Scottish startup venture.

The final stage of a year long executive programme where I have the wonderful opportunity to contribute my business skills to a Scottish company. Following 4 months training at at top Entrepreneurial school (Babson) in Boston and 3 months as an executive Intern at Monsanto in St Louis, USA.

As part of the year long Saltire Foundation fellowship programme I had the wonderful opportunity to work for 3 months within the marketing department with the global agricultural company, Monsanto, in St Louis USA. Involved in influencing strategic direction and having an insight into the mind of one of Scotland's great exports, Monsanto CEO Hugh Grant.

Successfully established Biopta's GLP quality system; gaining full accreditation in 2006. Extensive knowledge of GLP and UK National Research Ethics requirements including MHRA, FDA and Human Tissue Act regulations.Created a network of tissue acquisition sites throughout the UK which included over 400 clinicians and all major heart and lung transplant units.

Following redundancy from Pharmaimaging Ltd, I set up as a quality consultant helping small start-up companies establish a GLP/GMP/GCP quality system.

Taken on as Quality Manager of this medical imaging company but also took on the role of start-up project manager. Establishing GLP/GCP and GMP practices to allow production of radioisotopes and clincial trials to be run within the one facility.

Responsible for the management of the company quality system, managing a staff of 25 within the QA group.
