I was responsible for developing new business pitches, editing communications materials, upkeep of the agency’s social media channels and daily media relations/monitoring. I also provided day-to-day support for various clients, such as: Sears, Morneau Shepell, Stanton Renaissance, FICO, Weathsimple, and others. I developed an hour-long Lunch & Learn on "Best Practices for Social Media," with regards to the agency's clients. I received excellent feedback on this presentation, leading me to discover my aptitude for social media. For several months afterwards I became a social media consultant to one of the agency's Managing Partners.

Helped to launch their unique restaurant concept using a robust and integrated PR, marketing, and advertising strategy. Managed all communications from the business to their public. Created website and social media content, including the company’s mission statement, staff biographies,media releases, blog updates and the Brazilian BBQ story.

During my internship with Sheraton Hotels, I created monthly hotel and restaurant newsletters that were sent to several thousand clients, including guests, employees, journalists and local businesses. I participated in the marketing and promotion of their new resto-bar, "Sitrus on the Hill." I created the marketing schedule for the new bar's grand opening (advertising dates, website maintenance, events and promotions). I created and distributed promotional brochures, press releases and invitations to the grand opening event.

Over the course of my internship I wrote and published two articles: "College Savings Where It Counts" and "Finding Gems Amid Junk." I worked independently and with other writers on content for two ongoing sidebars, "Business News" and "Money Zone." I built relationships with public relations directors to discern the accuracy of information. I brainstormed and created daily headlines for various business articles.
