My work is to manage and promote internship, mentorship and job shadow opportunities in order to introduce youth to public service and develop the workforce that San Diego needs. Increased access to work readiness opportunities gives youth the skills they need to succeed in the career of their choice.

* Working with the City of San Diego’s Human Resources department, reorganized and centralized the San Diego Public Library’s volunteer program* Interview Panel Chair, Library Aide (2009, 2013, 2014)* Chair of Clerk Training Committee, re-wrote Library Clerk Manual* Graduate of Diversity University, Supervisor Academy, Dimensions in Discipline, Rewards and Recognition* Manage Sciences department, including main reference desk on the 2nd floor, 3rd floor Government Documents, Newspaper Desk, and Central Library tours.* Volunteer Coordinator for San Diego Public Library, directing work of staff and Committee members to process an average of 100 new volunteers a month.* Co-Chair of Seguimos Creando Enlaces Committee, winning grants to hold 5 bi-national conferences* Selected for Transforming Life After 50 State Advisory Committee as a result of Fellowship in 2010 and continued work with older adult population.* As Project Manager for Career Online High School, launched program and developed protocols.* Opened new Veterans Resource and Health and Wellness Centers at the Central Library and provided ongoing programming.* Facilitated partnership with Serving Seniors for book delivery program to home-bound seniors* Formed partnerships with Alzheimer’s Association and Aging & Independence Services for Read and Ride selection Still Alice.* Formed Advisory Group for Older Adults, surveyed patrons, and held focus groups as part of the Clairemont Area Older Adults project* With the Advisory Group for Older Adults, held 10 Older Adult and Health and Wellness Fairs throughout San Diego Public Library branches* In partnership with the East Village Association, Small Business Administration, City of San Diego’s Small Business Ambassador and others, held a Small Business Fair, programs for Startup Week and more at the Central Library* As part of the Connections after 50 project at the Clairemont Library, held programs for 50+ adults including finance, music, careers.
