I always wanted to be a teacher. For 15 years I guided young minds as they learned Latin, explored Roman history and culture, traveled overseas to new places, and processed these experiences in the context of their own world view. Although I left the high school classroom to work with adults, I still kindled my passion for teaching. In fact, as an Instructional Technology Specialist, I had the opportunity to plan professional development for teachers which helped them incorporate technology into curriculum design, data collection, and online interactions so that students might be engaged in authentic, personalized learning experiences. As the Director of Learning & Development, my adult learning experience has greatly expanded to include leadership development, career counseling, team dynamics and conflict resolution. As the Director of Learning and Development, I am a relational and visionary leader who desires to inspire staff to achieve their fullest potential through innovative learning strategies and initiatives.
