Leslie Witty's journey in education and workforce development spans nearly three decades, weaving through the corridors of high school classrooms, corporate training workshops, and college campuses before finding her role as the Vice President of Communications and Outreach for the South Central Workforce Development Board. She served as a high school teacher, coach and administrator in Warren County before becoming a trainer and then Program Manager for WKU’s Career and Workforce Development & later for WKU's Learn and Earn Scholarship Program. She has created, delivered and managed an extensive number of soft skill courses and programs, both for the workplace and for students. Her extensive experience in Communication can also be seen through the marketing, branding and social media she produces for the South Central Workforce Development Board. As the Vice President of Communications and Outreach for the South Central Workforce Development Board since January 2019, Leslie’s job role is quite diverse; she is a big part of the creative heartbeat behind the Board, shaping its online presence, telling its story through unique and engaging posts, visuals, videos, websites, and print media so that the Board’s stories may be heard by the region that it serves.
