Our school has PreK through 5th grade and we seem to grow more each year! Our population is around 1,000 students. Irwin County is a rural area in South Georgia with Agriculture being the main means of employment. I wear many hats at the school with a few being Discipline, Assessment, Curriculum (CCGPS) Common Core Georgia Performance Standards, Gifted, Special Education, Professional Learning, materials, resources, technology resources, TKES (Teacher Keys Evaluation System), Crisis Management, and a long list of other duties. Some days I may serve lunch in the lunch line, teach a class, visit a student's home, talk a 4 year old out of a bathroom stall they have locked, and a host of activities not in "the job description". It is very gratifying and most days I am a student, too, learning from the children!

I was Assistant Principal over discipline, Special Education, scheduling, and other responsibilities as needed.
