The primary goal of RAN-Texas, supported by NORD, is to provide policy information, raise awareness and share educational information about the approximately 2.9 million people living in Texas with a rare disease, in order to help improve the quality of life of rare disease patients and their families.

Manager and Special Educator of the Bridges Program, Texas Children's Hospital. The Bridges Program served patients and their families affected by autism and developmental delays. This unique, model program utilized a team-based, individualized and developmentally based, relationship focused approach. Services included a comprehensive, family-centered early intervention and treatment utilizing physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and early childhood/special education. All services were tailored to meet the individual needs of each child and their family, including assistance with development of individualized-home programs to enhance the overall level of family-centered care. Families from the Houston area, as well as, those from as far away as Italy, France, Singapore and McAllen, Texas, were able to access the innovative program provided by the exceptional staff of the Bridges Program.
