I started my professional life as a Merchant Marine Deck Officer (3rd Mate) at PETROBRAS, have been a cadet in the ship JOSE BONIFÁCIO and mate at the ships CAIRU, MURIAÉ and BARÃO DE MAUÁ. Curious, I worked as trainee without payment on all my holidays and days off at the brokerage firm Frank Shipbrokers and at the legal law office Pedro Calmon Filho Associados. Motivated by Pedro Calmon, I invested in the legal carreer, working in land at PETROBRAS, at its Dark Products Management taking care of demurrage claims and, after, as charterman at its Chartering Division. I left the company in 1995, when I was already coordinating training courses in shipping for FEMAR (Sea Studies Foundation), ABDM (Maritime Law Brazilian Association) and SOBENA (Naval Engineering Brazilian Society), having founded DOLPHIN CONSULTORIA in 1994, providing training for more than 4,000 professionals of more than 200 companies. In 2002, I founded SIANO & MARTINS ADVOGADOS ASSOCIADOS S/C together with my partner Fabiana Martins, and the law firm is very active in the maritime law field having been appointed as one of the Brazilian leaders law firm by Chambers Latin America in 2011 in such area. I also have been recognized in defending athletes in sports law, I used to be Professor of Maritime Law at Rio de Janeiro State University and at Espírito Santo Federal University. I have been a lecturer in various Brazilian and international congresses, seminars and summits.
