Whilst working at Millienium support I have mostly been working as part of a 3 to 1 team supporting a single individual with very complex Autism and learning difficulties. I also worked alongside NHS staff in Northgate Hospital in Morpeth for a few weeks to improve my understanding of the Individual and improve my skills. Before the individual's home was ready for them to move in, I was stationed at a different supported living service where I worked with a range of people mainly from a forensic background. My day-to-day responsibilities have included handling finances, handling and administering medication, this also includes regular stock checks. I am responsible for keeping the environment safe for the person I support so this includes things like regular fire alarm checks and infection control. Due to the disabilities this service user faces I'm also responsible for assisting him fully with personal care.

I have mainly worked on a one to one basis with a variety of individuals all with their own complex needs and levels of understanding, this required me to be adaptable and to change how I supported each individual to ensure I was providing the best possible person centred care. My proudest moment whilst working for the Hesley group was being nominated for the best newcomer of the year award in 2017, this was a huge achievement for me especially as I had never worked in care before.Throughout my time at Hesley I have been required to undertake and keep up to date with multiple training sessions, these are as follows - Fire safety- First aid- Food safety-Dysphasia-Help/Pbs-SupineAnother training that I chose to undertake was the training to be able to administer medication. I did this whilst I was in my first year of working there and have been administering medication correctly for the past 2 and a half years, I really enjoyed doing this as it was a new challenge and gave me more responsibility in my job. It also allowed me to better assist my team if my team leader was off or if emergency medication needed to be administered and they were unavailable.

- Llop Trained- Manual handling trained - Experience in a secure section- Experience using a voice communication unitMy main responsibility whilst working for Wincanton was picking in the general merchandise section of the warehouse. I would operate a low level order picker and attach pallets to the back of it, it was then my responsibility to utilise a t5 unit and drive around the warehouse picking multiple items and stacking them onto the pallets, when the order was completed I would then wrap and take the completed order to the bay ready to be dispatched to the store.There were multiple occasions where I would be sent to work in the secure section of the warehouse, this showed I was a trusted employee as I was picking items of much higher value such as phones, cigarettes and upcoming music and games which hadn't been released to the public yet.
