Like most jobs I have had, I work in multiple areas; Wherever the company needs me most.As a chef, I am in change of running the kitchen in the evenings, and cooking and preparing meals for our 90+ residents.Because of my degree, my boss has trained me in proper inventory management, and how to use the computer programs and excel files that place out food orders and record our budget. As a life enrichment associate, I help set up and run events to keep our residents active and happy.

Gathering and organizing research on medical waste.Revamping that city's "Fight F.O.G (Fats, Oils, and Grease)" program and distributing information packets and grease trap/interceptor maintenance verification logs to restaurants in and around town.Assisting fellow employees with their duties, such as delivering notices to non-compliant companies and gathering water samples and delivering them to Dillman Wastewater Treatment Plant.Gathering information on proper medical waste disposal, and working directly with GoldStreet Designs to create an information brochure to distribute to physicians, pharmacies, hospitals, etc. all over Bloomington, IN.

For both positions, communication was a key factor. As a host, I would manage the incoming guests and distribute them around the restaurant in an efficient manner while communicating with the servers to make sure everyone knew what they were doing, and that the guests got the attention and proper service they deserved. As one of the more experienced cooks, I would go through all six line stations, make sure everything was being cooked properly and in a productive manner, prep food whenever we needed to, stock up the entire line, and help keep the interactions between the cooks and the servers as positive and productive as possible.
