Analyzed a large Linux based php and MySql codebase documenting the system, fixing programming bugs, adding features and functionality. Resolved php bugs which caused frequent system crashes. Replaced inefficient php processes with stored procedures. Optimized MySql tables, keys and indexes. Balanced corporate system reliability concerns with the necessities of features required for customers and sales.

Maintained a SQL Server database and ASP.NET website with over 90,000 registered users. Developed new features including a single sign in API for third party websites resulting in a 10% increase in member activity. Built a shopping cart API to offer members seamless third party shopping.

Designed and build a mobile marketing application with real time GPS targeting abilities. Awarded a semifinalist prize in the NavTeq Global Location Based Solution Challenge for the prototype. Managed all software development for the production version including database, API, and mobile software. The Sql Server database included over 100 tables and 300 procedures. Communications were handled by a SOAP API transmitting XML data targeting coupons and offers to mobile customers. Wrote extensive documentation for the database and API allowing third party developers were able to create Windows Mobile and BlackBerry versions. In addition to managing external development and building the back end processing I designed and built Android mobile coupon software utilizing both JAVA based application development and mobile HTML pages with ASP.NET and javascript.

Led development of a new version of VoxReports, Provox’s flagship voice recognition medical documentation software product. Simplified and streamlined both the design and code. Reduced the 35,000 line business logic to 180 lines of code dramatically improving error handling and reliability in the process. Provided support and maintainance for replication solutions. Designed a “Remote User” product which allowed doctors, nurses and transcriptionists to use VoxReports on machines with limited connectivity, synchronizing data automatically when connections became available. The Remote User system handled updates to the main system through use of advanced SQL server techniques including dynamic stored procedure generation and execution. Managed a junior developer teaching team standards, style and task goals.

Integrated Elsinore’s Visual Intercept bug tracking system with Microsoft toolsets which included building a C++ COM based integration with Microsoft Project.

Developed a source code reformatter from idea through design and code to a $299 retail product. The 20,000 line project required mastering the complexities of parsing the C and C++ languages while efficiently performing complicated analysis. The product included COM integration with Visual Studio and SourceSafe. I received two promotions based on outstanding productivity, excellent documentation and completing production ahead of schedule.
