From an early age I have been surrounded by role models who have inspired creativity and compassion into day to day living. Utilising their skills and experience to help others and make the world around them a better place.This philosophy coupled with a technical curiosity lead me down the path of Mechanical Engineering, which I studied at RGU Aberdeen. Studying my Masters Degree I developed a strong foundation of engineering principles and the application of software such as ANSYS, Solidworks and MatLab. Most importantly, my studies taught me to learn. To see a challenge, break it down, understand and resolve it efficiently.Following my degree I became a Management Trainee at James Jones and Sons Ltd where I took on various positions on site to my current role as Grading Line Supervisor. The position has amalgamated my academic and experience, allowing the development of procedures and assets within my responsibility with an on going focus of continuous improvement.Now as Secondary Processing Manager, I use the skills and experience I have gained to oversee the production and improvement of 4 departments across the site. Away from the mill, I love to enjoy all that the countryside has to offer and can often be found admiring the hilltop views or swimming. Perfect for keeping fit and clearing the mind. I have played the bagpipes for many years and enjoy the camaraderie of playing in a band and I have even had the humbling opportunity to teach some of the next generation of pipers.
