I have worked at VCP for the last year. It is a charter school in an urban area of Indianapolis. We service low income families which 100% of receive free or reduced lunch. I teach first grade and really enjoy working with children coming from such different backgrounds. It has been great to learn from them and try and connect their world to first grade examples. I enjoy coming up with creative activities to engage my students and support in every way possible.

I was in the life skills room as an IA. I helped work one on one with students, plan activities, lead small groups, and work on inclusion time in the Gen. Ed. classrooms. I was selected as the temporary lead teacher when the original head teacher went on maternity leave. During that time, I was in charge of lesson plans and directing supporting staff on their daily roles. I handled behaviors and other major duties.
