Currently, I am a school social worker for Griffin Spalding County School System. I serve 3 schools (2 elementary and 1 alternative school) within the district as their social worker. I provide services to the students, families, and staff which include advocating for students and families, providing support to those in need, crisis crisis intervention, problem solving and more. This is my second year as a social worker for the district serving multiple schools. Prior to 2023, I was a social worker at Mainstay Academy, a program within the Georgia Network for Educational and Therapeutic Supports. I worked with students with severe, emotional and behavior disabilities to help them learn the appropriate social skills and academic skills to achieve success in their least restrictive school environment. I graduated with my Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication with a focus on Community Leadership from Columbus State University in December of 2016 and obtained my Masters of Social Work degree at Georgia State University in 2021. My goal is to use my education and my work experience to continue working with students, families, and communities in an educational and outreach capacity for all students.
