In 2009 I was appointed as a Registered Civil Marriage Celebrant. Although I am based in the South Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne, my role as a celebrant takes me all over Victoria for the many different types of ceremonies I perform. In my mind, ceremonies allow communities of family and friends to come together in celebration - perhaps a couple is getting married, or maybe a child is surrounded by his loved ones as he or she is officially named and welcomed. People call upon me to help them renew their wedding vows, whether they were made a year ago, or 50 years ago. Every aspect of creating a ceremony is special and important - I particularly love helping families with funeral ceremonies. My role as a celebrant brings me into people's lives for a brief time and during this time I become the family's spokesperson. It's truly a special experience because I get to know everyone and hear their stories which is so rewarding.Each ceremony is specially written to suit each couple, family or individual. This role brings together many of my loves and talents.I love meeting and helping people and I love to write and perform. I provided care for children in my own home. It was usually up to 4 preschoolers and up to 3 school age children. Being a day care provider was rewardingas I loved to see the kids grow and learn. One of my main focuses was to provide the children with a range of educational and fun activities while allowing them to socialize and gain important social skills. Each day I documented the children's activities, development, interests and interactions and combined them with photos to create a newsletter. I used to get a heap of good feedback from the parents and grandparents who enjoyed reading out their special little ones. To make it easier I emailed this to them. We'd have picnics and meet with other carers, here and at the park. After 4 years and after becoming a marriage Celebrant, it was time to say a relieving yet sad goodbye to the kids and to day care, but I still have all my memories and know that for whatever length of time, I was an important part of children's and family's lives

My position at Solo involved being in charge of Greenwaste bin collections and hard waste collections in the Mornington Peninsula. My other responsibilities involved handling all the account payable invoices and coding them appropriately for head office. I had to collate all the info into a massive spreadsheet and send this monthly to head office. After our company lost the contract for the green waste collections I helped to create a new system and setup all our clients on to the new service. My other unappreciated accomplishments including the implementation of several OH & S measures, such as the building of a soundproof wall to stop us from going deaf in the office. When we lost the contract, head office couldn't see a role for me and I was given a redundancy package, and took up my Family day care role
