Also assisted in bird surveys, bird banding, using mist nets and monitoring nests.-Supported a controlled tourist visitation system in the National Park beach area, by implementing a study on the ‘Effect of tourist trampling in the hatching and emerging success of the ‘Chelonia mydas’ in the National Park of Tortuguero’. Also preventing ongoing poaching, while providing alternative lively-hoods to the resident population, who have replaced subsistence consumption and commercial use of turtle products with ecotourism-Lead, instructed and supervised research groups of up to 10 international and/or local volunteers -Taught environmental education at the schools of Tortuguero and San Francisco in Costa Rica
