Many people with disability face challenges that restrict them from daily activities. Our team seeked to create a Brain-Computer Interface tool using a wheelchair model and non-invasive brain recording device from OpenBCI. By measuring and analysing the EEG waves using an OpenBCI headset followed by transmitting commands to the wheelchair model, we managed to develop a bi-direction control and custom BCI tools which involved learning a new programming language, Java. Additionally, we designed a wheelchair model and a custom case to hold the electrical components using SolidWorks, and refined the design based on constructive feedback. Through research and tutorials, I acquired knowledge about EEG signals and how to measure them using OpenBCI, showcasing my ability to effectively conduct research. I also exhibited the ability to work within a team of interdisciplinary individuals to establish communication between the electrical components and the OpenBCI software as well as construct a mini wheelchair model. One of the major issues with ECMO is the formation of blood clots along the holes of the drainage cannula due to flow stagnation. Therefore, the placement and size of the holes have been altered to study the fluid flow. While some researchers specialised in CFD validation, others experimented with the actual design of the drainage cannula. My role on the team was to design a test rig to evaluate the fluid flow of these customised drainage cannula. Through this, I was able to gain valuable experience and knowledge of 3D printing using different types of material and silicone moulding. Show less
