Multi-faceted role performed at the highest standard in a fast-paced environment. Main responsibility was to assist concreters in booking their concrete order/s in. I would answer in excess of 100 inbound phone calls a day for booking enquiries. Communicating and negotiating effectively with concreters was vital to securing their work. Often concreters would want to book their job for a date or time I could not cater for, but helping them find the best alternative by communicating and negotiating effectively with them meant I always secured their work. The aim was to book in as many orders as we could deliver to on any given day between 7am and 3pm, to maximize daily production output. Maximizing production and maintaining timely delivery on site was difficult, but by scheduling deliveries effectively it was able to be achieved.I implemented a new scheduling system whereby only large slab orders were scheduled for delivery between the hours of 7am and 10am. The system was beneficial for numerous reasons. Firstly, it set a strong foundation for the day in terms of maximizing production. Secondly, it was beneficial to our large slab customers who were guaranteed excellent delivery service and timely completion of their slab by pouring first up in the morning. Thirdly, it gave the Coburg Plant more time between 10am and 3pm to deliver to smaller jobs that may not have been delivered to at all, had the scheduling system not been corrected.Finding solutions to issues on site was another responsibility. Issues ranged from concrete arriving at an incorrect slump to concrete pump malfunctions. By remaining level-headed and communicating clearly with the customer, I was able to help them resolve the issue troubling them.Providing customers with pricing and other information on concrete mixes, and processing credit card transactions, were other responsibilities.
