I started as a laborer for Precision Pipeline in 2016, where I did a lot of maintenance work on mainline pipelines. My main focus was on the corrosion control side of things including the application of specialty coatings to extend the life of gas pipelines, cathodic protection, which controls the corrosion of a metal surface by making it the cathode of an electrochemical cell and installing test leads by exothermically welding the bare wires onto a bare surface of the pipe and covering it with a coating that is compatible with the manufacturer coating that already exists around it. The tests from the wire attached to the pipe ensure that the pipeline is protected from any corrosion that may exist. I worked for several other pipeline companies after that until I received my NACE certification for coatings inspector. After all of that, I happily planted myself at INTEREP Inc. where we provide technical solutions & sales for unforgiving environments, including high temperature, pressure, and corrosivity at several different plants.
