In 2014 I read Rolf Potts’ travelers handbook “Vagabonding” after spending four months travelling through Europe and blasting a hole in my bank account. Lamenting the fact I had to knuckle down and save in order to travel again, the book opened my eyes to the very achievable lifestyle of vagabonding: self sustained travel for an extended period of time.Since arriving in Vancouver in late 2015, I have pursued this lifestyle through entrepreneurship. I founded my fitness business Vagabond Strength & Conditioning in 2016, which has allowed me to pursue my passions for sport, physical activity and health, as well as adventure, travel and wandering. With a background in Construction Project Management and Estimating, I teamed up with friend, travel enthusiast and skilled tradesmen Casey Vanden Bergh in 2020 to form Influx Recruitment. Our goal is to promote the vagabond lifestyle to skilled Australian tradesmen, as well as fulfill the growing demands of Vancouver’s thriving construction industry. Having navigated the various visa pathways ourselves, we assist contractors and tradesmen alike in building connections and employment partnerships.
