I am a highly experienced lawyer and have spent my career on the side of people fighting for their entitlements and rights.I worked for around seven years in insurance and financial services litigation challenging insurers, superannuation fund trustees and financial services providers over unfair and unreasonable denials of claims for sick and injured people and inappropriate financial advice given to consumers.My experience includes acting in:- insurance disputes involving issues around policy interpretation, the duty of utmost good faith, non-disclosure / misrepresentation, policy exclusion clauses, remedies under the Insurance Contracts Act and complex medical conditions;- multi million dollar investment and insurance advice disputes;- matters of broader public interest relating to junk insurance policies.I'm now working on behalf of, and advising, union members in non-government schools in Victoria and Tasmania about their workplace rights and entitlements.
