Orchestrate all operational aspects for distribution division of North Region with annual budget of £2M. Lead multifunctional teams to complete daily distribution of all newspapers and magazines ranging from 100K to 150K products. Outline KPIs for area managers based on credits, app data, and budget. Throughout my team with WeBuyAnyCar I have been in control of running the region of the North East of England with an area spanning from as far north as Newcastle to as far south York.I am in control of 12 branches across the North East and have 20+ direct reports. My direct reports consist of 20 retail branch managers and 3 cluster managers.On a day to day basis I lead out 3 conference calls to motivate and drive effective performances across all branches in the North East. Throughout my time at NewsTeam Group I am currently running the whole of the north east, spanning over 2500 delivery addresses daily.My role as the Area Manager of the north east is to ensure that the operation is ran successfully, controlling 2500 delivery points per day, liaising with my supervisors to ensure that we have an adequate amount of drivers to successfully run the operation daily.My role is 7 days per week, 24 hours per day. It is my responsibility to ensure that everything with regards to the collection, dispatching, delivery, payroll and health and safety of the operation is controlled and to a high standard.I was employed by NewsTeam to effectively and successfully carry out a phased transition from foot deliveries to delivery drivers, resulting in me dismissing roughly 80 members of staff as well as employing self employed drivers to successfully deliver to our customers.So far I have successfully transitioned the deliveries so that 100% of the north east is currently delivered by drivers.Since I’ve joined NewsTeam I’ve reduced the weekly complaints from on average 110, now down to 6 per week.- Arrange for collection of papers.- Organise times of inbound and outbound drivers.- Hire and dismiss drivers.- Monitor drivers delivery performance.- Allocate workloads and structure rounds and areas.- Ensure that the delivery deadlines are met, i.e 8:30am delivery cut off. - Control the budget to ensure that the operation is ran efficiently, £40k per month.- Deal with customer complaints and delegate to supervisors / drivers.- Liaise with supervisors, delivery agents and 20+ drivers.- Hold weekly conference calls with the UK operations manager to discuss all KPI’s as well as the budget, delivery performance, complaints and any other issues.- Hold monthly meetings in Stoke with all other Area Managers across the UK.- Edit and move delivery points to different drivers to gain maximum delivery efficiency whilst also delivering successfully.
