I am currently a Graduate student in Cyber Security at the University of Delaware with a degree in Computer Engineering and a double minor in Computer Science and Cyber Security. My coursework and experiences have given me skills in coding languages such as Python, C, and Java as well as familiarity with computer science fundamentals such as data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and digital forensics. I also have experience in lab settings and research involving electrical systems and printed circuit boards.The experience I have in the field has all come from the University of Delaware, as I worked in undergraduate research and helped create and teach a new course titled CPEG667 - Pentesting and CTFs. My team and I developed a cutting-edge non-signature-based machine learning algorithm to detect malware for our Senior Design project and came out with a system that was 98% accurate with no false negatives. We were able to catch novel malware that we wrote ourselves that only 6% of industry leading anti-virus software on VirusTotal could catch, as most of them wait for databases to be updated to try to find similar malware from the past. This is a disadvantage that we avoided by training our own software.
