Liam Morrissey Email and Phone Number
I am a highly ambitious individual who graduated in June 2017 with a BSc in Economics from Swansea University. I am keen on furthering my career within the Banking sector. Whilst I believe my knowledge is at a high level, I still wish to develop and hone my skills further. I am a confident and enthusiastic individual that enjoys the prospect of working in a team towards achieving our goal. I have shown this throughout my life, ensuring our team in Santander showed continued success throughout difficult times (even if this required additional workload for myself), working with different stakeholders across the Santander bank during a large offshoring operation and building the HAYS Social care desk from nothing, and allowing it to prosper. As well as excellent team working skills, being given 3 consecutive years of over performance highlights the trust/confidence my peers and managers have in me, as well as my ability to listen and to lead. Furthermore, my consistent approach to wanting to be better and improve, has led to numerous successful changes being made by myself. This was only possible due to the advancement of my organisational skills.

Here, my initial SQL skills came back into play; involved in the automating of all of our key payments data to allow us to perform key data investigation to identify trends/forecasting, also using this to inform decisions/understand impact of scheme changes on us. I am also responsible for completing monthly reports showing Santander UK payments data. My role has taken on numerous projects, here, I liaise frequently with our robotic teams, initiating conversations on change, and play a leading role in many changes, including some Category A processes that we are looking to provide full end to end automation, to reduce manual risk. My role has led me to review all of our processes across the operation (CHAPS and International, BACS, Faster Payments, Cheques, Cards, Cash etc.) Identifying key risks associated to these processes and implementing changes to aid us. I have also been responsible at numerous times for presenting projects to people at a much higher level to myself. All of these changes, require me to liaise with different areas of the bank (Compliance, Risk, HR etc), to ensure the work that we are doing aligns to our strategic goals. Show less -

I began the role learning key data skills, understanding basic SQL code and how this can be used alongside the data lake to create key points for Data Analysis. My role quickly moved into the Payment Operations world, securing my permanent contract on the Payment Workflow Team. My job role here involved the maintaining of key daily SLA’s, supervising multiple different team members (onshore and offshore), responsible for identifying key risks in the area and implementing effective change, accountable for the closing of the Santander UK market and liaising with key stakeholders should any incidents arise. This role is where I increased my Payments knowledge of different schemes (CHAPS and International etc.). I also played an integral part of a large project within Santander, working longer hours to ensure that the project went as smoothly as possible. Some of my roles throughout this assignment included: managing all access requirements including any issues that arose and following through to full remediation, also, managing training groups to ensure the correct training/documentation was being relayed to future staff members. As well as this, I was heavily involved in the forecasting and the data analysis behind the FTE requirements, this meant that I had to consistently update key stakeholders above my grade with status updates and answering any queries. I played a big part in numerous changes to our operational function, coming up with changes resulting in FTE savings/increased control etc. Show less
