About Liam Rowley
Hello reader, At this stage in my career, the bulk of my work history has been as a Mechanical construction engineer. At my previous role at Harder Mechanical, we helped construct major utility feeding pipelines at Intel's Ronler-Acres campus and we installed all of the piping at JSR (a chemical factory in Hillsboro, OR). Then I became a travelling engineer and transferred to Los Angeles to work at PBF Refinery in a Carbon Monoxide Boiler replacement project as well as at the World Energy Refinery where we embarked on a multi-year Demolition and Reroute Project. While I definitely enhanced my skills as an engineer and leader in this role, I eventually left this role in hope's to find a role that provided me more fulfilment and in turn, I have found that that is an easier task said than done. I am a graduate of Oregon State University with a BS in Mechanical Engineering and I am currently seeking employment in the Torrance area of Los Angeles. In college, I traveled to Europe where my university’s team and I competed internationally against the world’s best fully autonomous Formula Student race cars; our vehicle was Oregon State’s first ever designed driverless system and as such, I designed the autonomous pneumatic braking system and its respective packaging from scratch. In college I also I held two internship positions at Gerber Gear and Lam Research in the Tigard/Tualatin, OR areas where I learned about project management, master scheduling, manufacturing + production, sourcing, and design engineering. Finally, in high school I took part in many clubs, sports teams and theatre productions, but most formative was my time in student leadership!My primary interests are in the design, mechatronic systems, sustainable energy solutions, manufacturing and control systems. I have a major focus in a workplace’s environment as well as the hands-on experience and education that such a workplace might be able to provide. One day I hope to return to college to obtain my Master’s in either electrical engineering, robotics, or control system engineering, but as for now I plan to learn as much as I can while in the industrial setting!

- While employed, I managed two separate knife chassis production projects which taught me project lifestyle management, industrial leadership, and some component sourcing.
- I redesigned an automatic knife lock-button using data from a CMM reading and then using CAD and FEA in the SolidWorks program.
