The short version:I help construction professionals understand how cranes work, how to procure the right crane and how to safely execute heavy lift activities in Australia.The slightly longer version:Almost a decade ago I landed my first job at a small crane company and was given the formidable challenge of starting an engineering department to plan and execute heavy lifts safely and effectively.Fast forward to 2021 and I found myself heading up the engineering department in Asia-Pacific for the 5th biggest crane company in the world - a role I still hold today.I've had the pleasure of planning and executing thousands of heavy lifts across Australia, Asia, Europe and USA.A persistent challenge that I have faced as a heavy lift engineer and project manager is that the level of knowledge and expertise regarding cranes and heavy lifting, held by the construction industry in general, is lacking - and Crane Class is my commitment to help drive this change. I've been fortunate enough to hold rolls on both sides of the fence - crane owner and principle contractor - learning from some true veterans of the crane industry, and Crane Class is a culmination of that experience.It is a platform that I wish was there when I began my journey in heavy lift engineering, but is also a platform that will help those who work closely with cranes, to understand them more intricately and to ultimately elevate the level of knowledge and expertise regarding cranes, across the construction industry.I love connecting with like-minded individuals on their own crane journey.
