Heading up the Facilities team to integrate into the internal Business partners within a multifaceted hospitality provider. The Radisson destination, is an iconic Kalamazoo location, serving the Southwest Michigan area, and a convenient resource for many of the large business operations well known nationally and internationally. The Four Star hotel, has 4 Restaurants, a main Banquet Kitchen, several meeting and conference facilites including a Grand ballroom. A unique Wedding destination, full service Health Club, Beauty Salon and convenient retail stores. The 341 Guest rooms, are the core of the operation, and help make the Radisson a one stop location.The Engineering Facilities team is a strength based team, serving this wide variety of offerings to our guests and the visiting public.

As part of the Engineering Department, which acts as technical support for the Operations and Maintenance sites. Directly responsible to ensure all sites have access to technical support and analysis of internally collected data, to provide actionable information to the client, and to develop and implement significant project solutions to increase efficiency and reliability.In addition to the Site support, developing of engineering solutions for steam and energy related projects, from early scope development all the way through full project management, for new as well as existing clients. Supported many industrial locations, of numerous variety of products, the experience would be reminiscent of the TV show “How it’s Made”Key functions include: Planning, developing and project managing Industrial Utility & Energy solutions for third party clients throughout the US. Supporting Armstrong’s contracted Operations and Maintenance (O&M) North American sites as the Energy and Engineering support for the site managers.

Armstrong Service Inc - Powerhouse O&M Manager at Post Foods in Battle Creek.I managed the Powerhouse Operations on behalf of Armstrong Services International, for POST Foods. We supply Steam, Compressed Air and Electricity to the Plant, to be used in the production of the highest quality Cereals that POST is famous for. Providing full cost management for the POST staff, directly and indirectly to the Powerhouse. In addition, I provided direct and indirect assistance in the overall Utilities Management, including futures purchasing, accruals and cost savings. I utilized both my Facilities Management and my Utilities Management skills for POST, and I enjoyed this dual role.I also created Capital Project concepts, develop them thru approval stages and act as PM in some cases. Armstrong Services International (ASI) provides a valuable service to POST and other clients at home and abroad, and the depth of my team is second to none in the US (and the World!)

A full service Energy/Utility auditing, Consulting and Project Management business for Industrial, Commercial, Residential and Agricultural enterprises. Certified for Energy Auditing through both;MSU as a State and Federally recognized Auditor for Rural and Agricultural businesses &Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) as a Commercial and Industrial Energy Manager.Both credentials are State and Federally recognized for government program audits.

As a Director of Facilities, I was responsible for providing strategic direction for all aspects related to the physical plant, capacity utilization, and security issues. Also acted as a consultant and advisor to the Joint Venture Medicilon/MPI Preclinical Research.I developed MPI properties domestically and internationally for maximum revenue, overhead and profitability. The scope was not limited to internal property use, but also to involve strategic business partners to occupy space creating synergies that add strength to the organization. I directed and managed experienced security professionals who cover a wide gamut of responsibilities.•Directed a staff of 100+ people in 5 locations both in the US and China, across multiple departments, and I directly reported to the President & COO.•Managed all corporate owned and leased space of laboratory, animal rooms, office space and acreage, including space needs assessments, researching alternatives, financial analysis and selection, lease negotiations, and space planning.•Developed and administered expense budgets in excess of $5MM annually •Implemented a Web based Work Order Management and Reporting System•Identifyed, Developed and implemented corporate and departmental processes, policies and procedures.•Managed the scale up, design, construction and commissioning of Labs and other scientific oriented space on projects up to $30MM•Managed and Directed the overall expansion program of over 1M sq ft costing well in excess of $300M.

Facilities Director for the joint venture (JV) research facilities in the Zhang Jiang High Tech Park Shanghai, China. Duties concurrent with Director of Facilities position at MPI Research.Highlights:• Led the US based design team to assist MPI's JV partners in the design considerations required for a US (FDA, USDA, GLP, etc) compliant facility in China.• NOTE: Successfully met US GLP, AAALAC and FDA requirements! This was one of the first in China and a major personal and professional milestone!• Provided budgetary and supply advice and direction to the JV CEO, and other management.• Reviewed and 'marked up' design documents for clarification.• In collaboration with International Vendors (e.g. Siemens, TRANE, Fulton Boiler) and also in alliances with industry competitors, I procured excellent local resources to assist us with ensuring the project was conducted according to US and European standards.• I assigned staff and resources to; identify, develop and implement corporate and departmental processes, policies and procedures.• The Facilities consisted of 3 buildings well in excess of 100k sqft.

This was a dual position, I was contracted into Intel to perform the duties of a Training Manager for the Engineers and Technicians during the construction of FAB 14. This was a role that was directed by Intel for the purpose of having the rapid hiring program handled by someone with both Irish and American cultural and educational backrounds. The site was located in Leixlip, Co. Kildare, Ireland.General Scope: Greenfield Design/Build for 660,000 S.F. facilities, including a 76,000 S.F. Class 1 Cleanroom, 40,000 S.F. Fab support building, an energy center and process support building.I also represented EEL as the Field Contract Services Manager for approx 150 Engineers and Technicians that were selected, pre-screened by me, scheduled and coordinated interviews with relevant Intel managers, and steered them thru the contractors new hire orientation process.
