Setting up and managing the production of EJ's latest range of composite access covers. This includes design of new products, development and optimisation of processes, implementation of QSE and ERP systems and management of 5 production operatives.

Working as part of a team to maintain and improve upon Rockwell Collins' outstanding quality and reliability in aircraft interiors.

Developing innovative composite components and processes for applications in the automotive and aerospace sectors. Key part of a team implementing quality management systems to ISO 9001, ISO/TS 16949 and AS 9100 standards. Received training in PFMEA, Control Plan and Product Pack development and process planning for high volume manufacture of composite components.

Employed through the Knowledge Transfer Partnership scheme, my role at Formax was to introduce new material characterisation and simulation capabilities. Working closely with the University of Nottingham Engineering Dept., I lead the implementation of new capabilities such as:• Fabric Permeability measurement• Fabric Shear resistance measurement• Computer-based preforming simulation• Comprehensive in-house composite testing facilitiesAs part of the KTP programme, I also received training in project management, including personnel, resource and time management, finance and document control and risk assessment. Awarded a level 5 management certificate from Ashorne Hill management training college.

I was employed at Merit for 9 months on a Co-operative Education program with my university. While there, I led several 5S exercises across my department as well as being responsible for the design, purchase and completion of process development projects on two production lines. I was a key part of Kaizen events on two heavily automated pieces of equipment and received specialised training on equipment operation.I attended, conducted and participated actively in technical team meetings and provided an excellent ability to use solid-modelling software such as SolidWorks 2010. I researched and presented a new spare parts management system to senior engineers as well as implementing this system. I was responsible for the purchase, validation and qualification of new equipment and the completion of all relevant documents. I led several meetings with manufacturers and tool makers during the design of items and ensured the timely completion of all projects. I gained vast experience in medical device technologies as well as lean manufacturing and process development techniques.

I was responsible for the management of the dining area. Dealt directly with suppliers and was responsible for payment of all goods received. I lead the waiting staff and dealt with any customer queries or complaints. A clean and safe work environment was always maintained where attention to detail was key and provided feedback to the manager regarding possible improvements in service and implementing these changes.
