As a kitchen associate, I worked as a core member of the team to provide high standards of cleanliness, quality, service, maintenance and atmosphere with the intention of providing outstanding customer service. It was my exceptional organisational skills and self motivation that allowed me to transition my role into a team leader. This role involved motivating the team and supporting the manager in ensuring all policies and procedures were followed and the shift ran smoothly and efficiently. On top of this, I helped complete spreadsheets, support my team, recruit new team members, assist supervisions, settle disputes and build long-lasting relationships with staff, customers and outside agencies. Additionally during this time I developed my skills in leadership and problem solving, for instance three days a week I stepped up and became the acting shift coordinator. Whilst in this managing role, I helped maintain a safe environment whilst upholding safeguarding requirements and risk assessments.
