As a healthcare assistant for Cavalry Care I play a vital role in providing quality, personalised care and support to patients across various health care settings. Communication is a critical element of the healthcare environment, whether that be relaying urgent information to doctors, discussing financial decisions with advocates or comforting family members through emotional times. One of the most essential aspects of my role is to offer emotional support to patients and their family. By developing my caring and compassionate nature I can make a significant difference to their wellbeing. Throughout the role as a healthcare assistant, I maintain my values to deliver patient-centred care and strive to operate within the patients best interest.My role involves providing hands on care to patients, including assisting with mobility, personal hygiene and daily activities. An important skill I have developed during my time with cavalry is the ability to monitor patients’ health status in detail while ensuring they receive the appropriate medication and treatment.As a team, we aim to promote patient independence and empowering them have control of their care. By teaching patients about selfcare and encouraging them to be active participants in their treatment plan we build their confidence in care while providing them with the comfort they deserve.
