Current•Managed all aspects of the Main Street program including, but not limited to: purchasing, record keeping, budget development and accounting, preparing all reports required, supervising employees, consultants, interns and volunteers as appropriate.•Applied for applicable grants for both SPMS and Spruce Pine Main Street businesses as necessary.•Used speaking engagements, media interviews and personal appearances to maximize public awareness of the organization and its programs.•Developed economic development strategies that are based on historic preservation and the promotion of the historic uptown area. •Assisted board of directors and various groups within the SPMS to achieve goals set by the Town and the community.•Developed and conducted ongoing public awareness and education programs designed to enhance appreciation of uptown’s unique character and assets.•Built strong and productive working relationships with appropriate public agencies at the local, state and national levels.•Assisted business and property owners with facility improvements through personal consultation with regard to: locating appropriate contractors and materials and providing guidance on necessary financial mechanisms such as historic tax credits.•Worked with downtown and community wide organizations to carry out joint activities such as promotional events, advertising, special events, festivals, business recruitment, and so on. Encouraged a cooperative environment between downtown interests and local public officials.•Represented the community to important constituencies at the local, state and national levels.•Supervised all employees of the organization in accordance with the Personnel Policies adopted by the Board; conduct personnel and project evaluations and make other human resource decisions.•Prepared an operating budget, monitored the operating budget and oversaw financial records including preparing for possible audits.
