I ran a tutoring business that focused on 4-5 year olds getting ready for kindergarten. This eventually took the form of a YouTube Channel that has different skills and strategies that parents can use to help their children in the early years of school.

I carried out a number of duties since we were a small school. I was responsible with creating and implementing specific curriculum to serve children in my kindergarten class as well as pre-kindergarten students. During the summer I taught 1st-4th grade summer STEM camp. I tutored pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, and 1st grade students during my time at Brisbane as well. I received the Outstanding Teacher of the Year Award for the 2017-2018 school year.

I was part of the Kindergarten team for two years where I was responsible for all subjects.

Taught at seven different schools; six elementary schools and one junior high school. I had over 600 students of varying levels. Classes were as small as 4 (at my smallest school of 15 students) to upwards of 35 at the bigger schools. I taught English to all grades using songs, textbooks, smart boards, English cards, English story boards (picture books without the words) and engaging activities. I also taught American or Western culture to children who had never been outside of their city. I focused on reading, writing, speaking, pronunciation, listening, grammar and daily conversation interaction.

I was responsible for teaching lessons for children (30% of the time) and adults (70% of the time).On average I had around 55 students in a week. A class consisted of as little as one student to a maximum of 9. I averaged around 26 lessons a week, but had many more responsibilities outside of class than compared to AMITY. These outside responsibilities included (for adults) check tests; tests to check students progression with the supplements purchased from AEON, self study meetings; which were used to evaluate how a student was progressing and what class level they should look at taking next, and interviews; introducing prospective students to AEON and giving them an example lesson so that they have an idea of what life as an AEON student is like. The children's classes ranged from three years old to 14 years old. The 15 year olds were then moved in with the adult classes in the schools. Children's classes were mainly for conversation, fluency, pronunciation, and overall comfortability with English. The grammar classes for children were taught by the Japanese teachers. There were two separate types of lessons for adults, grammar lessons and conversation lessons. The grammar lessons focused on a particular grammar point every week, where-as the conversation lessons were more about vocabulary, rhythm, intonation, and speaking more quickly when given a specific subject (such as 'Weekend Activities'). I taught adults of all ages and all levels. Some of them could barely say greetings, (Hello, how are you? I'm fine and you?) while others could converse with me on a number of challenging topics such as politics, the economy, and the environment. I was responsible for selling AEON branded learning materials and following up with my students progress ever couple of months. I had personal meetings with all of my students (except the children's classes) and understood their needs and goals. I was very much a salesperson as much as I was a teacher.

I taught English to children aged 2-18. I also taught some of my students parents. The content was mainly English conversation but this covered a wide variety of topics ranging from culture, norms, geography, religion, politics and social issues. The former three being mainly for the younger kids, with the latter three being for the high school students and the adults.
