My approach to lighting design is two-fold. Either creating an environment in which the event takes place. Or, from a point of view as if the light is a character. I enjoy working with directors who like to discuss how the characters of the show will interact with the light. What effect does the light have on them, and vice-versa. He has taught Lighting Design and technology in Universities, High Schools and at Master Classes around the country. He has been co-producing the annual Stage Lighting Super Saturday workshop with partner Sonny Sonnenfeld in New York City since 2005.
