Responsible for key planning, coordination and control of production processes at Affirmations Publishing House. The role also included acting as Marketing Coordinator, for which I was responsible for the planning, coordination and publishing all of Affirmations' collateral. This included managing a content plan for external communications across print, digital and social media platforms.Affirmations publishes books, greeting cards, gift boxes, art prints and stationery. I was responsible for the supervision and delegation of both human and material resources, within the Affirmations creative department.Typical work activities included:• overseeing the production process, drawing up a production schedule;• ensuring that the production was cost effective;• making sure that products were produced on time and of good quality;• working out the human and material resources needed;• drafting timescales for jobs/projects;• estimating costs and setting the quality standards;• monitoring the production processes and adjusting schedules as needed;• monitoring product standards and implementing quality-control programmes;• liaising and acting as the main communication channel amongst different departments, e.g. suppliers, managers, creative staff etc;• working with directors and other managers to implement the company's policies and goals;• supervising and motivating all team members within the Affirmations art department;• reviewing worker performance;• identifying training needs.As production manager, I was involved in the pre-production (planning) stage as well as the production (control and supervision) stage working with the creative team. A large part of the role involved dealing with all departments, for which I acted as the main communication channel.
