About Joseph Miller, Phd
Professionally, I am interested in tech startups, causal inference, and all things AI/ML. Additionally, I'm interested in global macroeconomics, asset management, and developing algorithmic and quantitative trading strategies primarily based in autonomous learning and causal discovery but other techniques as well. I have appeared on various podcasts and television shows such as Bloomberg, Nasdaq, and occasionally guest lecture at Cornell and Yale on entrepreneurship and/or AI. I’m particularly interested in AI labor disruption.Academically, my doctoral work was in the design and application of micro-fabricated particle accelerators to nuclear, medical physics and radiation oncology and the development of a theory of cancer cell invasion from the perspective of thermodynamics. My research projects were funded by DARPA, ARPA-E, the NSF, Kavli Institute of Nanotechnology and the Sloan Foundation. Some of my research specialties:+ Accelerator activated ignition devices in mega-ampre fiber pinch plasma fusion.+ 3D tissue engineering of biological materials with synthetic polymers+ Novel imaging modalities of physical gradients in thick tissue scaffolds+ Biochemical and mechanobiological effects of radiation on cell-cell signaling and cell-ECM modelingIn my previous life, I have also worked as a graphic and web designer, product developer, and professional musician.
