Lila Smith (she/her) is an Account Manager on the Outreach & Participation team at ITHAKA for the Southwest region. She is dedicated to expanding access to knowledge and education through services like Artstor, JSTOR, Portico, and Ithaka S+R and she is driven by ITHAKA's mission to dismantle historical barriers to education. Before ITHAKA, Lila worked at Pearson, supporting higher education professors in the Pacific Northwest by providing rigorous and research based educational courseware. Prior to Pearson during her time as an English as a Second Language instructor, she fostered safe and trauma-informed classroom environments by advocating for her students and their families in the Southeast. Lila's passion for access to equitable education can be felt in classrooms across the country. She holds a Masters in Teaching English as a Second Language and a Bachelors in Strategic Communication from the University of South Alabama.
