I am currently enrolled in the Masters programme Marine Sciences at Utrecht University where I will be focusing on marine biodiversity and ecology. My interest lies especially in understanding the impacts of increasing human pressures on marine systems as well as climate change and its consequences.

I have graduated with the degree of “Global Sustainability Science” from Utrecht University. In addition to that I completed my minor in Biology. I would like to emphasize that I have learned to speak Dutch fluently in two years and have successfully completed several university courses instructed in Dutch. In addition, I am now talented in working independently, motivating myself, giving and processing constructive feedback and actively developing myself.

I have worked in this position for a year making me gain helpful skills while experiencing multiple departments. I have worked independently in every department strengthening my independent organisational skills as well as showing that that my managers see me as reliable and dependable. The departments required effective time managing skills and working under high pressure situations. My communications skills developed further by customer interactions and responding to customer requests as well as interacting with the other team-members. This job was a great experience and helped me to grow.

In addition to my full-time studies, I currently work in retail at Rituals Cosmetics. I took this job seeking to gain new experiences, improve multiple skills and gain insight into a company working towards sustainabality. The companies ambition correlates with my studies and offers me to experience sustainability applied to business situations. My experience in sales, interpersonal communication, finance and organization has improved noticeably.
