International Affiliate Coordinator & Project Manager
CurrentIn my role, I organize and am in charge of 16 ITA affiliate groups with group leaders and thousands of members, as well as hundreds of R.E.A.D. groups in 28 countries and over 7,200 registered therapy teams. Additionally, my duties are:- Advocacy: Advocate for the benefits of animal-assisted interaction while representing Intermountain Therapy Animals to promote the organization’s mission and impact. - Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with research and best practices in animal-assisted interactions, implementing continuous improvements in the R.E.A.D. and ITA programs based on emerging trends and evidence-based approaches.- Collaboration: Collaborate with educators, therapists, and other professionals to integrate therapy animals into educational plans, medical treatments, and interventions, fostering a collaborative and interdisciplinary approach to learning and support.- Volunteer Management: Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers involved in the R.E.A.D. and ITA programs, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to work effectively with therapy animals in educational and clinical settings.- Affiliate Coordination: Act as a liaison between Intermountain Therapy Animals and its affiliates, providing support, guidance, and resources to ensure uniformity and adherence to program standards.- Training and Development: Conduct training sessions for affiliate organizations, volunteers, and therapy animals, ensuring they meet established program criteria and maintain high standards of animal-assisted interactions.
