In this role, I am responsible for the overall technical relationship between startup customers and AWS and make architectural recommendations on security, cost, performance, reliability and operational efficiency. I work to understand the customer's needs and give architectural guidance on how to create business value with AWS technology through activities such as architecture reviews, white-boarding sessions and technical workshops. I evangelize and educate about AWS technology (e.g. through workshops, meetups, public speaking, online videos or conferences). I also build and share best practices on AWS through contributing to technical contents and new reference architectures.

I was a co-founding partner and have a mix of responsibilities. Leading the insights team, I carry out research and data analysis to understand our clients’ markets. This includes using web and social analytics tools to generate market insights, conducting social listening analysis of customer behaviour and trends and developing a business process map. I have led the development of companies’ KPI dashboards. I liaise with clients, design and build reports, keep them informed of progress and provide them with recommendations. I lead the research team supporting Sales in preparing leads and proposals.

I initiated and run the Chinese market entry for a company that previously had no contacts, relationships or presence in China and a very small marketing budget. I am in charge of sales, marketing and project management. This involves generating leads, building relationships, understanding clients’ needs, making presentations to senior management and contractual negotiations. As part of this process I have given several public speeches and also performed cold-calling. I have managed several of the major projects, dealing with and resolving issues and misunderstandings often caused by the cultural gap between Chinese and UK companies. In order to expand our contact network I have researched, met and built partnerships with agencies both in Europe and China. We have managed to win contracts with several of the biggest Chinese companies, built a significant database of leads, have established solid sales/partner channels and built a small team in China.
