Power generation and energy transmission/distribution has been my primary focus since a young age after being raised by a well-respected and dedicated power engineer on a small farm.I was blessed with a cross pollinated and progressive engineering career in power generation, distribution, transmission, and manufacturing through both individual contributor and leadership roles since 1996. I spent 3 years as a supervisor at a major manufacturing company before transitioning back to a public utility career. That manufacturing role taught me the value of teamwork, being visionary, and having a sense of urgency. During my power generation career I investigated, analyzed, troubleshot, tested, and resolved operational and maintenance issues at various power stations through various engineering and project leadership roles. I then transitioned to the lines side of the company to manage transmission and distribution projects before progressing through various engineering supervisory roles. In my last role, I provided advanced corporate distribution engineering support and guidance to ensure that the electrical system was maintained and operated in a safe and reliable manner. During this role, I supervised remote corporate engineers and regional engineering teams that evaluated and implemented new technologies in the areas of planning, reliability, and distributed energy resources. Before leaving that role, I was honored to lead and receive a 2022 EPRI Technology Transfer award for Modernize Distribution Planning Using Automated Processes and Tools Automated Distribution Assessment & Planning Tools (ADAPT). This annual award recognizes the leaders and the innovators who have applied EPRI research to produce significant results.My natural curiosity and desire to help achieve the mission (or even mission impossible) have been strengthen by my education, experiences, upbringing, and faith.In my free time, I enjoy traveling, camping, floating, hiking, side-by-side riding, farming, wine tasting, trying healthier recipes, being a soccer/band mom, and providing community service.
