I am a strong researcher and professional, having spent 4+ years at the University of Sydney completing my PhD in Chemistry, and the last 3 years as a scientist at Tyre Stewardship Australia. As a young female scientist, I love speaking to young female identifying people about opportunities in STEM, as well as overcoming some of the barriers we uniquely face. 👩‍🔬👩‍🔬👩‍🔬 I have spoken to high school students, university students and on panels at several conferences. If you are someone who identifies as female and are considering a career in science or have an event where you would like to hear more, please reach out and connect with me!I currently work at Tyre Stewardship Australia as the Science, Research and Innovation Manager where my role involves:• Delivering scientific and technical advice to the TSA team and its stakeholders• Conducting market support initiatives in emerging market areas for tyre derived products• Conducting new focused research studies not captured in the fund, to overcome technical and scientific market barriers, issues and knowledge gaps• Developing accessible information for the TSA network in the form of technical talks, summary reports and fact sheets for key emerging markets and scientific areas.• Responding to relevant enquiries relating to tyre derived products and rubber materialsI am skilled in leadership, science communication, laboratory skills, university research, teaching, and community outreach. My expert areas include general chemistry, rubber chemistry and fluorescent sensor arrays.My passion for environmental chemistry stems from growing up adventuring and in Scouts, where we spent all our time outside hiking but also being mindful of our impact on the outdoor places we would visit. 🌲 🌏 It has also instilled my passion for volunteering, community involvement and engaging with young people. I live in Sydney but work with a team that is mostly based interstate and networks around Australia.
