Linda Platzner is a chief executive, a board director and strategic adviser.She has spent a career growing multi-platform media businesses, leading management teams, serving on boards and advising companies.Among several notable awards, Linda received recognition as “Creative Visionary & Marketer of the Year” by the Otis College of Art & Design.Currently, Linda is the non-executive Chairman of the Board at Onzie, a California-based active apparel company.Previously, Linda was an Executive Vice President at Primedia, a publicly traded media company, with P&L responsibility for its Broad-Reach Consumer Group (a $350M business). Her portfolio included, New York Magazine and its digital assets, the Motor Trend Automotive Group, the Liberty Exhibition Group and the Soap Opera Digest Group.Additionally, she was responsible for the marketing and sales strategy at Channel One, an in-school, television news network, with an audience of millions of students from grades K-12 nationwide.Before assuming that role, Linda served as the President of Primedia Teen Properties, including Seventeen and Teen magazines, their companion websites and 400+ live annual events. This portfolio also included the marketing company Cover Concepts, Inc. and Gurl.com, a group she consolidated through acquisitions, and then subsequently sold to the Hearst Corporation for roughly $200M in 2003.Linda grew the businesses within her purview by developing new revenue streams, expanding portfolio brands globally across several channels. Including broadcast, digital and global licensing. She also increased endemic advertising sales substantially year over year. Most notably, Linda established a partnership with the News Corporation for the Fox Teen Choice Awards. In 1999, she built and launched Seventeen.com, one of the first digital destinations for young women in the world.Following her successful run at Primedia, Linda focused on corporate development and M&A, where she advised private equity groups on multiple media acquisitions.Linda has served as a board director at several public, private and philanthropic organizations including, Perry Ellis International (NASDAQ: PERY), Metropolitan Capital Partners, Panther Productions, Ladies Who Launch and Shine among others.
