Leading the EnergySmart CNY team of trusted, knowledgeable, community-based organizations including the Central New York Regional Planning and Development Board, Alliance for a Green Economy, and Greater Syracuse Works, and many other community partners to provide information to individuals, small businesses, and affordable housing owners about the benefits of the clean energy economy, ways to reduce energy use and costs, and how to make more informed energy decisions.

Did you know that over 1/3 of NY's greenhouse gas emissions come from heating and cooling buildings? Transitioning off of fossil fuels is necessary to fight climate change and also a huge opportunity to help make homes more comfortable, improving insulation and heating systems. Significant funding is available through the utilities and NYSERDA to help homeowners, especially low-to-moderate income households, and we are working to help people learn about and access these opportunities. I also am responsible for working closely with our Executive Director to manage day to day office operations, IT, and develop the policies and systems necessary for us to grow as a nonprofit. I had the honor and privilege to work as a consultant to the Onondaga Nation, working with local community groups to create change on issues of mutual concern, such as hydrofracking, green infrastructure, environmental justice and respect for indigenous rights. I am told that my patience while working with community members is a real skill. Conventional media, social media, and graphic design were key aspects of my position, as well as general public relations, and assisting the Onondaga Nation's environmental attorney and General Counsel. I assisted in defeating two proposed coal gasification plants; supporting the birth of Onondaga County's Save the Rain initiative; promoting environmental justice for native and inner-city communities; advocating for the full cleanup of Onondaga Lake; and educating and providing organizing resources for community groups working to keep Fracking out of New York State. Built social media presence from scratch to 4000+ Likes on Facebook, 400+ followers on Twitter. Designed memes and print advertising materials. Earned TV, print, and radio coverage for the 500 Indigenous and non-indigenous participants as they paddled 140 miles from Albany to NYC on the Hudson River.

Grant writing, oversight, and support for a wonderful inner-city youth development program, based on the national Youth Corps model.

Worked with Michael Burns, Steve Gabriel, and Frank Cetera to share the six-week "Community Training in Ecological Design" course with Syracuse and Central New York residents.

Developed and implemented the outreach program for the Onondaga Creek Revitalization Plan Project, including organizing and promoting seven Community Forums. Served as secretary for the Onondaga Creek Working Group. Managed $100,000+ budget for the Onondaga Lake Partnership's Outreach Committee, as well as coordinating the annual World Water Monitoring Day, developing RFPs for programs, and managing the Mini-Grant program.Convinced employer to significantly upgrade our graphics software to Adobe Creative Suite. I taught myself how to use Adobe InDesign and managed the design, layout, and production of the Onondaga Creek Fact Sheets, incorporating the work of four staff scientists to complete the project on time.

Developed a small group of concerned neighbors into a 501(c)3 organization with strong community and political support to successfully use the courts to save Three Falls Woods, a 175-acre old growth woodland. Duties included meeting coordinating and facilitation; volunteer management; strategy development; fundraising; research.
