Patient registration, payment posting, and resolving all active AR including workman’s compensation claims for every physician to whom I am assigned. Administration of the rotational phone schedule, inventory control and ordering of all office supplies, and serving as a resource for the staff of multiple physician’s offices. Lead researcher for critical projects requiring detailed reporting and accurate resolution.

reviewing and analyzing claims for billing, reviewing and analyzing claim for corrected billing due to various changes to accounts including but not limited to: charges added or removed, coding updates, changes to patient information, insurance updates, claim downgrades, utilizing the SSI system to adjudicate the billing of outstanding claims.

running various reports required for departmental functions, analyzing account payments for contractual compliance and/or discrepancies, ensuring that reimbursement procedures adhere to regulations and payers’ operating procedures, calculating amounts of indebtedness, responding to requests from attorneys and complying with subpoenas utilizing strong written communication skills, researching applicable information in response to requests for refunds/adjustments, utilizing excellent communication and customer service skills to explain complicated benefit issues to patients and diffuse hostile encounters, making determinations when issues need to be escalated to appropriate personnel, assuming team lead position to formulate action plan in response to results from employee satisfaction survey and training new personnel within the department.
