Well, instead of retiring on Aug. 31, 2018 after 30 years with KPR it appears the change I needed is coming in the form of this central role as Buyer. Working in ICT, buying technology for the board was a wonderfully challenging experience and as much as I miss the constantly changing world of technology and my girlfriends on the Helpdesk, it's important to recognize when new challenges are necessary.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hello, I thought I would use this space to let you know a bit about me ...I have been fortunate to work in a number of different departments/positions at Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board for the past (29) years including Facilities Services, Human Resources, Central Administration and most recently for the past (10) years in Information and Communications Technology. My interests include Technology, Continuing Education, Marketing, Records and Asset Management, and Web Development. My current position as the ICT Department Liaison places me as the sole technology buyer for our school board and the main point of contact for all staff with technology purchase queries. Working directly for the CIO, I am responsible for board technology assets, licensing agreements, and technology purchases. For the past (3) years, I have coordinated innovative technology purchases for a project referred to as the Technology Innovation Program (TIP); also referred to as the "Technology and Learning Fund". This project has allowed KPRDSB to introduce new technologies such as VR, Robotics, 3D Printing and Makerspaces to our schools and this project has been a very rewarding experience. My current position at KPRDSB pulls me into many interesting and rewarding challenges and my days fly by swiftly as I endeavor to provide Excellent Customer Service to our stakeholders.
