Starting as a volunteer for this lab, I now work as a lab technician with additional responsibilities. I independently screen, consent, and run study protocol on new participants. I also handle biospecimen collection and processing, administer cognitive and academic achievement tests, and coordinate interventions. Additionally, I've assisted on VO2 Max tests and physical functions tasks for participants of all ages. Lastly, I've analyzed and collected biospecimen, survey data, and other biometric measurements for input into REDCap.

I oversee and coordinate communications between intramural employees and program director, as well as ensuring the safety of thousands of students during all programming. My role also includes completing evaluations for my co-workers as well as creating weekly schedules for over 100 staff while considering relative availability, preferences, and skill levels.I also took the initiative to implement a widely requested flag football tournament as a student, the first in program history.

The Laboratory of Neurobiology studies the neural plasticity in the adult central nervous system of teleost fish, and on the role of structural changes of neurons in behavioral plasticity. My role here includes cleaning and testing 50 knifefish tanks by maintaining conductivity levels, and measuring ammonia, nitrate/nitrite, and pH. Through this work experience, I have gained hands-on exposure in a research setting, and built a foundation for my involvement in the medical field.

Aegis Gardens is a specialized nursing home located within Washington State. My role within the organization was to guide 8-10 patients in leisure and exercise activities on a regular basis. Many of the elderly who lived at Aegis Gardens had Alzheimer's and other dementia related issues, I developed interpersonal skills through engaging with a completely new demographic of people, and as such this has translated towards my people skills in other parts of my life.
