Research field: fusion plasma physics. My research is focused on developing theoretical and numerical models to describe the dynamics of fast electrons (primarily runaway electrons) in plasmas. The main project is to derive a collision operator describing the interaction between fast electrons and partially ionized atoms, and study its effect on runaway-electron dynamics. Through my PhD studies, I have further developed my skills in problem solving, mathematical modeling, numerical calculations (mainly in MATLAB) and data analysis, resulted in four first-authored, peer-reviewed papers, and one co-authored paper. I am skilled at presentations and clear communication, which is demonstrated by several invited conference presentations as well excellent course evaluations from teaching. Have also had multiple popular science presentations on fusion energy.
