As a the associate director for the Delaware Institute for Excellence in Early Childhood (DIEEC), I manage all communications for the Institute's initiatives to engage Delaware's early childhood community. Through extensive outreach and support, the Institute is charged with improving the quality of early child care in the state of Delaware.My responsibilities include:• Storyteller - Write for all the organization's communications activities including a monthly employee multiple external newsletters, website, press activity, and all resource/promotional activities.• Public Relations - Proven ability to work effectively with media, internal, and community audiences. • Branding - Rebranded the organization to be consistent with the University's guidelines. Included the redesign of units' websites and resource/promotional materials. • Outreach/Engagement - Create engagement opportunities with the more than 4.000 early child care educators throughout the state. Under my leadership, "Children's Book Week" has become the most successful engagement campaign in the organization's history. This success is marked by exponential growth in participating programs in addition to new partnerships with state/local leadership. Additionally, for the first time, the event received coverage in the media. • Social Media - Manage social media platforms to support brand awareness and to increase engagement for Institute's initiatives. Extended presence on social media to include additional platforms while also increasing engagement organically.•Strategic Marketing - Coordinate, develop and implement communications strategies, both internal and external, to promote the Delaware Institute for Excellence in Early Childhood. • Influencer - Act as liaison to state, local and university, non-profit and private organizations to build relationships that expand the Institute's influence, visibility, and participation in the state and local communities.
